3-Day old MS6 & very strong radiator smell

you are indeed smelling the coolant. I had a very VERY strong smell in mine at first.

Yes, all new cars have new smells to them. But this coolant smell is very unique if it's the same thing. It goes away after a few thousand miles. You may even smell it very faintly from time to time later on.

Unless you see coolant leaks on the engine bay or do the cardboard trick...don't worry, enjoy that car.

Just picked mine up a few days ago and it does have a smell. It is not coolant. I think it is the cosmoline or whatever preservative they spray on as the car comes across from Japan on the boat.

Ugh. It is stinky.

But gawddam is this a fine car. Excellent value for the price paid.

I had this issue with mine when i first got it. If you pop the hood and look on the right side of the radiatior cap where the hose goes in, you may have some leaking from pressure. Mine was splattering on the manifold. There have been reports of other MS6 owners having this issue. Its nothing a hose clamp won't fix.
