Mine charges pretty fast. Do the new ones really not have a power outlet under the dash anymore?
Not in the US.
Not in the 16. Or I got ripped off!
My 2017 Touring has the following outlets:
12V socket, always hot in the top/front of the console
12V socket, only hot when car is on, in the center console box
2 USB ports only hot when car is on, in the center console box
2 USB ports, always hot in the rear seat arm rest.
12V socket, always hot in rear cargo area.
Most new phones need 2A to charge and older USB specs can't provide this kind of current draw.
My 2014 will *maybe* charge my phone when it is off. I will not even get a charging icon when it is on.
I have purchased a 110V/USB 2A charger on Amazon which plugs into the outlet in the console. With it, I can charge my phone / tablet and power a laptop.
I think because others treaties port not only to charge but to mirror or sync with their phones. Why use the 5v 500-750ma USB, when you have a 12V outlet that can put out 2.0amps
Well there are issues regarding weak phone charging via USB port. I was thinking of that Y-adopter to connect a powerbank and the USB port at the same time on the phone.IT Guy here and I'm confused. What is this thing for?
