2014 CX-9 Mirror with Homelink and Compass install question

If someone (me) really wanted to order the optional AUTO-DIMMING REARVIEW MIRROR WITH COMPASS AND HOMELINK mirror for their 2014 CX-9, but the car already comes with the version of the mirror minus the compass, why can't it be installed according to Mazda?

Or to phrase it differently, the part 0000-8C-N06 says "Not applicable on vehicles with factory installed Auto-Dimming Rearview Mirrors." Why? Anyone happen to know?

Not sure of the answer, but I wonder if it has to do with the rain sensing wipers. I previously saw on this page various mirrors available:

As you can see, rather than use the Mazda language you cited, some of the items say "(vehicles without rain sensing wipers)".

That might be it. Grand Tourings are the only ones with factory installed mirrors and the only ones that list rain sensors as an option. Thanks for the response.
