I have a 2012 Mazda5 with 6-speed manual. I just put a new shift lever mechanism in. I have 1- 6 gears but it will not go in and stay in reverse gear. Has anyone had this trouble. I tried to adjust the cable at the shift lever . But that didn't seam to help.
This happened to me, 2012 also. A tiny piece of plastic had broken off the lower end of my shift lever, that was what slid into a groove and locked it into reverse gear. But you're saying the intact replacement piece isn't sliding into the groove?
