2000 Mazda Protege- Check engine

Hey guys ! Need a lil help here !
I have a 2000 Mazda Protege LX. The check engine light appears now and then and shows a cylinder 2 misfire. But later simply goes off!
Has anyone had this problem before? Where should I start looking in order to rectify it ? Spark--> coils -->O2 sensor ???

Possible causes

- Faulty spark plug 2
- Clogged or faulty fuel injector 2
- Faulty ignition coil 2
- Fuel injector 2 harness is open or shorted
- Fuel injector 2 circuit poor electrical connection
- Ignition coil 2 harness is open or shorted
- Ignition coil 2 circuit poor electrical connection
- Faulty #2 spark plug wire

I'd take a look at the spark plug, first and then the injector. Sometimes an injector can get clogged with dirt.
