03 protege5 shifter bushings replacement

So over the past like 4 months i've noticed my shifter getting a little loose and is able to move back and forth when in gear I looked up what i needed to do it but, i am not completely sure what steps need to be taken to replace the bushing. how do you replace them?

It's all stock parts that are on it to my knowledge except for what i have had to replace

Corksport sells a nice set of bushings, and they have instructions you can download whether or not you get theirs.

I have this issue too, but have a hard time paying $40 for some bronze bearings. At that point, I wonder if the factory plastic bushings from the dealer would be cheaper.

There's a set of Kia bushings that work. Check Jackie Chan's build thread.

I was going to make my own as well, but I'll have to remove the bushings to measure them.

My factory bushings lasted 220,000+ miles. Another set would outlast the car.

Why would you be calling them crap? They have done their job and lasted this long on so many cars...they are a good, reliable part from what I can see.

It just doesn't look like a place to put in a plastic part... Mine were completely crunched... (rubber or urethane maybe...)
