Hello!

I am curious why the 17CX-5 doesnt have a differential lock button? I noticed that my wifes 2016 Rogue does. Is there an actual need for this? Does Mazda compensated for it in anyway?

Have a read of Mazda's i-Acitiv AWD. Uses sensors, computers to detect wheel slip and engaging AWD

Because Mazda doesn't think it needs one for its intended uses. [The Nissan probably doesn't either... or it's AWD isn't automatically good enough without it?]

Why don't you take them both out to a quiet hill on a snowy day and compare them? Then let us know how it went!

Those two videos are pretty good. Another one is the Crested Butte challenge with the 2016 model year. The awd system is the same.
