So I walked up to my car the other day only to notice some #&%## moron had seemed to run a shopping cart or something high into the front of my car. As you can see from the attached pic it didn't get through the base layer, but did knock a fair sized chip out of the paint and and added a few other marks to boot.
I stopped by a body shop and one of the guys looked at it, and said to really fix it they would have to remove the piece and do a total repaint on it to make it right, which I believe whole-heartedly. Soul Red Mica is a great color indeed, but I have known since I got the car any issues with the paint would never be a cheap fix.
Since I lease the car I'm not losing my mind over this, but it pisses me off every time I look at it. But I also really don't want to spend the big cash so I'm thinking to do a touch up as best as possible. I know it will be far from perfect but at least I'd like to be able to disguise it a bit. I've read varying opinions about the factory touch up paint, and was wondering if some of you folks out there had any experience with other brands or methods of doing a fix for this sort of ding.
Thanks for any insights ya'll might have.
