Just wanted to comment on how much I love this thing. I got the official one from Amazon. Saved a few bucks. Geez, look how dirty already. Take it out, hose it down.
I'm sure I'm probably the last one to get one, but just in case anyone is still debating: get it. 5/5

I assume it fits nicely over the already carpeted boot area right (scratch)

I agree. Although one of the cheaper accessories, it's probably one of my favorite ones.

did it do anything for noise? can you tell a difference? is it more or less slick than the carpet floor mat it covers, as far as things sliding around. I see it has ridges/channels, so it might aid in keeping things in place a bit better than the carpet.

Did you consider any other brand rear cargo mats or just the Dealer accessory?

It might reduce noise slightly but more carpeting might make more of a difference.

I never thought my car was noisy at all so I'm the wrong one to ask there. It is much better at gripping stuff but stuff still slides the way I drive. But before the mat it was much worse. Any acceleration would cause stuff to move. LOL
I considered all the ones on Amazon but in the end, wanted the OEM one.
