Someone smashed the driver side quarter window glass in my 2008 Mazdaspeed3. I priced the replacement locally for $300-350!!! which is more than a windshield. All shops have said you must replace the molding and window as one piece hence the expense. One guy has a used one for $150.
Has anyone tried to do this themselves? Can the part be bought and then bolted in easily?
Looking through the shop manual it calls for lots of adhesive and assembling multiple parts, not installing a single piece including molding.
