fog lights with out head lights on?

Could really use a wiring diagram, does anyone at all have a workshop manual for the 2??? Ask around, lets not just sit back and wait for one person to do all the work!

Okay, I'm not sure, but I think that the attached files are the pertinent pages. They cover the wiring and operation of the running lights system. I believe this manual is actually for the UK version of the car, or something. Hopefully it helps, though. Let me know if you want anything else.

I can actually buy the Workshop Manual that BBD posted at the no.23 post and share it with you guys if you want.

Alright guys, well I tried wiring it at the engine fuse box, and feeding the fog light relay to the taillight power instead of drawing power from the headlight switch. Unfortunately looking at some schematics, the foglight and headlight go through the BCM. Therefore, I need to do a little more under the dash to find the correct harness and wires for this. Unfortunately no time to do that considering I am leaving for New York tomorrow for the Orange County Choppers Mazda Meet. I will hope right back into that some point next week or next weekend hopefully. If there are others that are pretty decent at hunting that stuff down im going to link a page that has multiple pages of the mazda2 BCM wiring.

These aren't the pages needed. Need pages preferably that show the harnesses under the drivers dash. Also anything pertaining to the BCM.

If you have the manual you can email it to jcancela9@gmail.com

Okay, after poking around the diagrams at mazdaserviceinfo.com, I think I might have an idea how to do it, though I won't get a chance to try it out until this weekend at the earliest. If you look at the F-02 fuse box under the dash:

http://am.mazdaserviceinfo.com/emaz...013/Mazda2/m2/books/m2d09/html/conn/F_02.html

Fuse F22 there (METER 10A) is powered only when the ignition is in the on or start positions. Then look at the fog light diagram:

http://am.mazdaserviceinfo.com/emaz...M/2013/Mazda2/m2/books/m2d09/html/0918_2.html

The front fog light relay (R7 in the main fuse box) only opens when receiving a signal from the BCM and one from the headlight relay. If instead of taking a signal from the headlight relay it took its signal from fuse F22, then the fog lights should be on when the ignition is in the on position and the fog light switch is on. Thus, DRL's, right? Somebody more familiar with this will have to check my work, but if nobody else is able I'll start poling around my fuse boxes to see if I can figure this out when I have the chance.

You can try, the main thing looks like you have to bypass the BCM, I was thinking cutting these two wires and having a jumper wire from one to the other, just to locate those two wires

I would like to try it without bypassing the BCM first, but you may be right and we may need to do that, too. I'm sure you'll have to bypass the headlight relay, though. See attached.

Yea, I saw that....all around the 2 looks like a huge problem in this foglight headlight tie in.....I already tried drawing power from the taillights to power the relay, and could not get it to work, in fact it powered the headlights as soon as i turned on the driving lights.

Alas, I've no time. Gotta get my stupid degree wrapped up. I'm a 7th year Masters student, and they aren't going to let me make it 8.

I've been looking into it my self and I can't find a good way to trick the system or by passing it. I was thinking of adding 2 PIAA fog lamps in the front licence plate hole and run the oem fog control the them. Using the PIAA wiring to run the oem fogs.

It would give it the same look as the Spec 2 Mazda2 with the lamps at that spot.

I was thinking of these lamps

Definitely sounds like an option, and the center mount do look pretty cool rally-style. I wish I had more electrical know-how. I'm sure there is a way to get those factory fogs working the way I want...

Me too, I'm going the lazy way with the extra fogs lol And I drive in the middle of no where so the extra lamps will help a lot.

Hey everyone, I found this on the 2014 Fiesta thread. One of the ST owners did a relay-based mod to have the foglights always on as drls. This is how he described it:

I just converted my Fog Lights to also be DRLs.
This was a relatively easy MOD.
The Fog Light Relay is negative triggered.
Therefore another relay was required to receive a positive ignition trigger.

Does anyone have enough electrical know-how to say whether this would be possible with the way our foglights are triggered?
