    Regular Protege Intake on MSP?

This intake is sold for the regular Protege, but most sites seem to indicate that it will also fit the Mazdaspeed Protege. My friends got it for my birthday (they're awesome) and I was wondering if it would fit or if I should take it back and get a different one. It seems like the turbo and...

    High flow cats

I have custom 2.5'' midpipes and resonator with stock cats. Will high flow cats go right on or will I have to weld them on/get more 2.5'' piping?

    Squeaky Clutch Pedal

Don't have a cow man! Anyone else have suggestions? I'm going to start punching people at random if this problem persists.

    Squeaky Clutch Pedal

Yeah I think it's worse when it's hot out. Also my squeaky rear sway bar bushings get suuuper squeaky in the summer and the noise disappears in the winter. There is apparently no good permanent fix for that. Some spray will keep the squeak away for like a week, but that is too annoying.

What have you done to your MSP today?

I finally had some exhaust work done. Replaced midpipes from catback with 2.5'' aluminum pipes. Kept stock tailpipe (I don't like drone). Paid $290 before tax. Anyone know how that price sounds? At some point I plan on replacing my cats with a high flow one (I won't do catless) and do the...

    Squeaky Clutch Pedal

For the last few weeks, my clutch pedal has been squeaking with every depression of the pedal (back and forth). I never knew such a tiny thing could drive me so mad! I can't stand it anymore. Every few days I spray some lithium grease in the plunger hole thing (sorry I don't know what the parts...

FS: New stainless steel SLS mid pipe with cat

^ Seconded. Will it fit with the stock axle-back? Edit: Right. Cat-back, not axle-back.

    Quietish Aftermarket Exhaust

Thanks for all of the suggestions. How do I generally know if two pieces are going to fit together without buying them first?

    Quietish Aftermarket Exhaust

That sounds like a good idea, but my axleback is what's falling apart so it's not really an option. Anyway, where would I get an exhaust kit that's only from catback to axle? Edit: Say I got a high flow cat, better midpipes, and a catback (up to axle) while fixing and keeping my stock tailpipe...

    Quietish Aftermarket Exhaust

I was looking at the Corksport one, actually. From Youtube videos it sounds pretty nice. You think if I get the high-flow cat and the silencer, it'll pretty much eliminate drone? Edit: Also, would I be able to use it with my current catalytic converters or would that just bottleneck the power...

    Quietish Aftermarket Exhaust

My exhaust is falling apart. I noticed the connection between the back of the muffler to the rest of the exhaust is weakening (it isn't a weld at all and doesn't appear very strong) and my tailpipe is hanging low. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a leak, too (it doesn't appear to sound any...

    Rough Idle, Flashing CEL

Late update: It ended up being spark coils after all.

    Rough Idle, Flashing CEL

So I got home from work and while preparing to replaced my spark plugs, I started my car to demonstrate to my friend what the problem was, and it appeared to idle just fine. Confused, I proceeded to install the spark plugs because they were due anyway. I used NGK (6441) ZFR6FIX-11 Iridium IX...

    Rough Idle, Flashing CEL

I'm not an expert but that sounds extremely dangerous, considering the coil packs are delivering electricity on the scale of tens of thousands of volts. Thanks, I'll try replacing the plugs first. I think I can figure that out (I've never really maintenanced my car before) or get a friend to...

    Rough Idle, Flashing CEL

Thanks for the tip. The plugs haven't been changed in a while - I in fact ordered new iridium ones when I ordered my timing belt. I'll change my plugs today or tomorrow and see what happens, although I don't see why my plugs would suddenly fail. Does this happen? Should I bother replacing my...

    Rough Idle, Flashing CEL

I turned my MSP on today to discover that it was idling very rough and uneven, and the check engine light is flashing. I'd just ordered and received my timing belt components in the mail and was going to replace the whole thing in a few days - I really hope my timing belt didn't fail just now...

How to find out what production number im MSP is?

Your VIN should be on a plate on the front of your dash, on the left. Check it with the first list here and you should find your number.

    Timing Belt Kit

So an expensive O2 sensor is just a ripoff? How do I know if it has the correct connectors (I don't want to do any wiring if I don't have to)? For instance, will the Walker pre-cat O2 sensor (250-24629) on the linked site fit just like the OEM?

    Timing Belt Kit

Wow, that's a pretty extensive How-To. One of the best I've seen here. Thanks for the info. Also, I need a new upstream O2 sensor. The prices seem to vary wildly ($30-$160). Is there a reason to pay more for an O2 sensor? From my understanding, the OEM O2 sensor is among the more expensive...
