You may be right, however the software I use doesn't rely on a FULL tank. I enter the amount purchased and then the distance travelled and i get my mpg since last purchase/recording. I could only put $10 in and it would still give an accurate mpg. I'm not sure why the 5 was so thirsty on that...

Sounds like in '08 and onward Mazda removed the cover on the storage compartment between the driver and passenger seats. Yes, the cupholders are gone due to the rear vents however, the underseat flip-out try in the second row has two cup holders as well as a tray with mess bag for storage...
