    Temperature gauge mis-match

thats no good! I cant see how that relates to a temp reading though. esp on the factory guage which only moves up over half above 100.

    Temperature gauge mis-match

I believe the other sensor that your not sure of its a temp switch for the thermo (possibly a high speed setting for when things really heat up) not too sure as 13bs dont have it. hmmmm tricky one. The factory temp guage on my car has randomly spiked up a couple of times on really hot days for...

    Wheel Size

Iv got 18in RX8 rims perfect fit. My other car had 19s same offset as fd rx7, was also a perfect fit. just need the back gaurds rolled. cant remember what the offset was though exact fitment as fd. with the perfect offset on the rear u could fit 11in wide rims if u really wanted to.

    Wheel Size

18s are a perfect size. big enough to look good, small enough to be able to lower the car nicely and still be able to get full lock without rubbing on gaurds or inner gaurd. May rub on the plastic slightly but noting that will chew on tyres or ruin your gaurds. 19s look awsome, but u cant lower...

Gearbox oil pipe running through the radiator

the only time my car has overheated was on a heatwave scorcher of a day stuck on parramatta rd traffic, barely moving.. water was sitting fairly steady at 95 slowly rising, fans going crazy, but once the oil and water temp got up to 100 i pulled into a servo too cool down. the twin oil coolers...

    Ant's Cosmo

    1) u can get the exhaust temp wires from under the driver seat. if u did from under the car, u should be able to trace it to under the drivers seat. 2) spot on! 3) are you referring to a neutral idle or drive idle? yes there for fine adjust, and also the throttle plate stop adjust screw. 4) this...

Gearbox oil pipe running through the radiator

as stated an extra trans cooler isnt required, a simple bypass would have sufficed for the short term. For a long term solution, Id suggest removing the factory transcooler and fitting a reputable after market one which is thicher and larger in a good airflow path. (some shrouding will help alot...

Gearbox oil pipe running through the radiator

Your right, its to get the box up to temp quicker, and keep it at a reasonable temp in super cold weather. You can just bypass it with no dramas and hook back up to the factory trans cooler, you will need longer oil lines. It will just take slightly longer to get up to temp. U wont need to add...

So you want to build a tough Cosmo Auto?

I cant see it being a hard fix though. after all its all just sensor/switch related for the neutral safety, and reverse. These should be fairly universal, u should be able to make it all work with whats on your box. For the cruise im not too sure, i suspect it needs a speed and gear indication...

So you want to build a tough Cosmo Auto?

thats right i went the elec 4th (i was told at the time by the box man that there were no 4 speed valves for my box) i dunno long time ago now. I think thats where your problems lie. We must also note that the 13b box is different to the 20b box. i have no idea what series it is, there was no...

So you want to build a tough Cosmo Auto?

i was concerned that i would loose my cruise control when upgraded the ECU, but it still worked. then when i did the box i thought i would loose it again, but it still worked. i think its a independant system or maybe only requiring minimal inputs. however i cant be sure because my setup still...

So you want to build a tough Cosmo Auto?

Very thorough write up! Why would u loose cruise control with option 1. The cruise should still work with all these options except maybe with the standalone AT ecu. does your cruise control still work? Mine does still works with option 4. Im not completely sure but i think as long as the...

the 2 13bs boxes that i had both had the rectangle extension. no idea about the 20b boxes. either way i wouldnt be very fussed over it. Perfectly fine to just clean and re-use.

the filter is the pick up... youl know what i mean when u take it apart. u dont have to replace it. just flush out backwards and put it back in. its just a pickup assembly with a fine mesh as a filter. if the mesh is still intact, no need to change it.

    Berty's Cosmo

Ok thats fair enough, but i hope u dont expect it to last very long. clutch packs will wear very quick with your amount of power, esp in a pre worn 20 year old box. Those temps are pretty good considering u have a massive heat sink strapped to the block. Do u have a upgraded rad? do u get any...
