    AirBags

It's not that he can't fit them, he just can't reach back there to put his kid's binky back in his mouth. I guess that's actually a good indicator of how much legroom there is in that middle row.

That's the way it works on an '08, but may not work like that on an '06.

Roof Rack For The Mazda5 Thread

The Mazda racks connect to 4 mounting points hidden in the plastic strips that run down both sides of the roof. There are 4 plastic tabs that cover them if you have no rack.

Roof Rack For The Mazda5 Thread

I know it's not what you want to hear, but I don't think there's an easy fix for that. Unfortunately, you may have to go to a body shop to make sure it's fixed right.

Why there is no trip computer?

I've searched and found posts where people mount the Scangauge on the steering column. Is this the consensus location for the 5?

I'm not sure I know which metal bracket you're referring to. Can you post a picture of it?

How far past "E" do you let the needle go?

Anyone else thinking of that Seinfeld episode? If you're a Seinfeld fan, you'll know the one.

    2008 Mazda5 - blacked out the A/C Condensor

Wow. That's a pretty gracious offer. If I didn't have mine already, I'd be all over it!

    Its Really Not A Van

My California State registration says "Wagon". And the first time I had it washed, it was at a place that charged $6 for cars and $8 for vans. When it came time to collect the money, the person looked at the car with a puzzled look on his face, rubbed his chin, then charged me $6...

    Aftermarket DVD system.

My 08 GT doesn't have a plastic cover in the ceiling either; and I don't think Mazda would prewire every 5 for what amounts to one of the rarest options on the car. It could be that the vehicle came with a DVD and they pulled it to install into another vehicle.

    2008 Mazda5 - blacked out the A/C Condensor

I know that black dissipates heat well, but what I don't know is what the hell an "S" plan is.

    New Thule Fairing Installed

Oh, and I agree that the sunroof is kinda small for a decent sized roof. If it slid back INTO the roof, it would be a bigger opening, but keeping the sunroof on the outside definitely keeps it from maximizing the sunroof opening.

    New Thule Fairing Installed

I've always wondered about those wind deflectors. I know they're a pretty popular accessory, but one of the reasons I don't use my sunroof is it doesn't really let in a lot of breeze, just a lot of sun (which doesn't agree with my pale-skinned wife). Also, I have an aversion to sticking...

How far past "E" do you let the needle go?

Also, if you really push the envelope, there may be some muck in the bottom of your tank that you don't want to suck into the fuel system. I don't let it get past 1/4 tank just because I hate seeing those really big numbers on the gas pump when I fill it up.

    Test drove my first 5!

I love my Navi! It's a whole lot better than the piece of poop in my 05 Mazda3. He may just be trying to downplay it since the vehicle doesn't have one in it. To me, the option NOT to get is the $1200 DVD Player. On the aftermarket, you can pretty much get any DVD player you want for that...

    Tint Questions

The choice of tint colors or darkness didn't affect the price at the shop I went to. I probably overpaid at 225 for 20% on just the rears (fronts are illegal in CA), but in the SF Bay Area, everything is overpriced.

    Important: Mazda3 cakewalk for thieves!

Snap! I just found a mysterious dent in my passenger door. Nothing missing though (I never leave anything out). I wonder if it was someone just trying to see if they could do it? I guess it's time to contact the dealer about getting that retrofit kit.

    New Thule Fairing Installed

Just installed a Thule Fairing on my 5. Contrary to Thule's website, which recommends a 38" fairing, I went with a 44" fairing and I like the way it fills the space a lot better. The 38" just seemed small for the vehicle. Of course, as everyone probably knows, using a fairing renders your...
