Okay, i have asked before, but this time i'm fed up w/ the lack of info on the 2002 protege5 MAP sensor issues.... Can anyone explain where the carbon buildup is that would foul the sensor up soooo bad??? -I have replaced the egr w/ a new one -cleaned the port down stream from the intake...

use a stubby wrench, take the battery out, remove the intake tube and its pretty easy. took me about 5 minutes once the intake and battery was outta the way! hardest thing to do is line up the new gasket blindly.

okay i've cleaned the hole going into the intake from the egr, replaced the egr itself, reset the computer, and run a good deal of cleaner thru the system and i threw the code again..... on the p5 the hose coming from my map sensor goes into the intake where? is it accessed better from the...

gonna replace w/ another since it was a lifetime warranted part!

i just got the same code again... any info would help here.

well if the p5 has the same parts i should check it.... where is the tube and are there any pics/ threads on clearing it out like u suggest?

any huge potential of a performance increase over just replacing my cracked boot? (b/c p0171 code) CAI sets are ranging from 40 to 300$, boot is maybe 35-40$..... i do have a k/n filter in my stock airbox so i would be tossing a filter w/ maybe 15k on it.. :( just wanna know more sides to this...
