    12V Inverter Question

Hey all, we now have a 2010 Mazda 5 Grand Touring. I see it has a 12v socket way in the back. Can I safely assume that we can use an inverter such as in the link below for the rear passengers and the front at the same time? For long trips I can imagine we might have one laptop going, plus...

    $400 for rear endlinks?

Dealer says my 2003 LX (132K miles) told me I need new rear endlinks, for about $400. The clunking in the back has gotten fairly noticable on bumps. Will aftermarket (such as protegegarage.com) fit that I can put on myself and save a ton of money? Or even AutoZone or Napa? Other than a floor...

'05 Tribute - how lock hatch window?

We just picked up a '05 Tribute last night. Great deal on it, only 29K miles in great shape. Love it so far. Today my wife noticed that the car is locked, but we can still open the rear hatch glass. I didn't study it yet but I didn't see anything obvious. Anyone know the secret? Thanks!!!

    Max amps on cigarette outlet?

Have any of you northern folk used heated seat cushions in the winter? I mean the strap on and plug in kind. What is typically the current draw on those things? Just wondering if more than one at a time could be used if I got one of those splitters. Thanks!

DANGER! Annoy me and go to jail!

Typically by now, any President this long in office has vetoed dozens for bills. Bush Jr. hasn't vetoed a single one. He'll sign anything you put in front of him. Here is the latest: ----------------------------------- http://news.zdnet.com/2100-1009_22-6024695.html?tag=nl.e589 Last Thursday...

LCD question for Battlefield 2 online players

Anyone using LCD monitors? My old 17" CRT has gotten too dim so I stumble around in the dark (and often get killed) inside buildings, etc. During the Xmas sales I am considering getting a 17 or 19" LCD, but I'm concerned about "ghosting" or any other problems with high speed games. I use them...

New Car & Driver tire test

Anyone else catch the latest tire test in Dec. '05 issue of Car and Driver? I was very disappointed with the outcome of the Toyo T1-R. Guess I'll have to pick something else next spring.

Cost? Failing auto tranny on Grand Caravan

Any people in a service dept. here? Just wondering how much it may cost to repair our '98 Grand Caravan. The last week it has been acting up; until the first mile or so we put it into drive and it won't go, but then after 10 seconds or so it seems to hook up in low gear and start moving. Seems...

Who has been a UPS package handler?

Have any of y'all been a package handler at UPS? If so, just how grueling is it? I don't mind the lifting and the free daily workout so much as going into the winter season and having to work in 20 degree weather. I wouldn't mind 140 degree trucks in the summer but I hate the cold. Had frostbite...

How long do snow tires last?

How many miles can I expect to get out of a set of dedicated snow tires, assuming I rotate them every 5000 miles? I'll put on about 12,000 miles between mid-October and mid-April, after which I expect to get summer tires and rims and leave the stock rims for winter only tires Say Blizzak's...

    Ads on satellite radio?

I've heard that advertising is getting more frequent on sat. radio? Is that true? If so, it can only get worse, and I don't want to buy the radio upgrade and then spend $12 a month if in a year it won't be any better than FM is now. Cable TV evolved into commercials and self-promotion also...

    Falken ZE-512 V- or H-rated?

Just double checking..... I'm considering the Falken 512's in the following two sizes: stock size 195/55-15 v-rated or my current 205/50-15 h-rated I'd rather get 205 size but it's not available in V rated. Besides the speed rating, is the V-rated tire going to stick better than the H...
