Agree. I've owned LOTS of cars, and never once an AT problem. @OP It's got to be you. ;)

    Something loose in steering?

I'm thinking if I felt something loose in my steering, I'd have it to the dealer right quick. Not that steering is important ...

    Towing on CX-5?

Can you even get gear, food, ice, paddles, etc for FOUR people in the back of a CX5? I believe you're in CX9 territory. When I go on a 1 week fishing trip with 3 buddies, my 4Runner is stuffed to the ceiling.

    US Diesel's big splash introduction

No, absolutely no. What good is Tq and mpg when there is no parts inventory in the US, no trained service techs, no support infrastructure. I'd lay down a Benjamin Franklin that says this will not be a successful move for Mazda. The trend in the US is away from diesel cars, not vice versa...

Carplay and Android Auto coming soon? Crossing fingers...

Saw this this morning ... seems slightly germane to the topic. Toyota to use Linux in '18 Camry. http://www.autoblog.com/2017/05/31/2018-toyota-camry-open-source-linux-based-infotainment-agl/?hcid=hp-tile-large

    US Diesel's big splash introduction

You're probably right - they'll have to do something dramatic to spur sales and acceptance. As I've written here before, I'm not convinced that the diesel remains viable as a passenger car engine in the USA. If I did buy one it would most certainly have to be from a mfgr with some existing...

    CX-5 Trade-In Value

Intended to be factual, not un-nice. You've been on here long enough to know I'm right.

    CX-5 Trade-In Value

On second thought, go drive a CX-9. Best trade value, good driving dynamics, more room.

    CX-5 Trade-In Value

Don't answer this if you even remotely want this thread to stay on topic. As to your question, very doubtful anyone here has traded a 16.5, and if they did it was for another Mazda -- not the best reference point. Look at it this way - your competition is new or CPO 16.5s still on lots...

    Q-1 Compact SUV sales figures

... which is actually why I started the thread. I wonder - are there lots of Rogues sold to the rental car market? I sure don't see that many. Maybe it's eye-self-defense. Also echo the RX350 comment. I believe that model outsells all other Lexii combined. And the new one???? Yikes/ugly.

    Q-1 Compact SUV sales figures

Well ... OK ... maybe I prodded just a little ... but it's ... so easy. Agree on the Rogue. Only thing uglier is the Juke. (Wife calls it the Puke) So, what's behind outselling CRV? Giving them away?

    Q-1 Compact SUV sales figures

Just watching a Nissan Rogue commercial -- (audio) "Rogue is the number one selling compact SUV in America...". Wut? That can't be right. A little Googling, and sure enough, here it is. The percent at the end of the bar is gain Q1-17 over Q1-16. I suppose Mango will be along to gloat, and...

Why are 2017 Cx-5 selling so close to msrp?

The thread should just end here, but ...... ^ This statement could not be more wrong. Don't fall for it. ^ This, exactly. The term "invoice" is used by the car biz, cleverly, to imply "cost", or "what the dealer pays for it". They use it, again cleverly, to establish the beginning...

Any advantage of getting AWD over FWD in a city like Atlanta?

Agree. Save your money. Someone will blather on about wet traction, but it's nearly irrelevant ..... if you drive sensibly.

    Two things holding me back

Aside from "The Boss went fishing, so we can do what we want while he's gone" .... that's the second oldest ploy in The Car Sales Handbook. I get a personalized letter from Toyota every quarter "needing" exactly my year of 4Runner due to high demand. It's called "get 'em in the door, iron out...
