Sidewall damage on OEM tire covered by warranty? Patchable?

Somehow my wife's 2016 GT CX-5 with 5500 miles on it got a big chunk taken out of the sidewall. It's deep enough I can see the belt a little. Any chance that would be covered by warranty? Can that be patched?

Carplay and Android Auto coming soon? Crossing fingers...

I used to use/love Waze, but the recent addition of ads and suggested destinations have killed it for me.

Who has done the Mazda AIO Hack?

Do you undo it by uninstalling everything you installed, or by reinstalling the firmware?

2017 Impressions, Noise Comparison and Our New 2016 GT

You're probably right about it being a bad deal, but I don't think ordering in another was an option. Supply is running low. A few used 2016 GT's with under 10k miles showed up online this morning. There's little difference between a "new" car with 3300 miles and a Certified Preowned one with...

    Fuel Economy

Agreed. I'm just saying you can't use an EV as proof of that 'cause it conflates the diminished efficiency of the cold battery with that due to dense air.

Cold is bad for batteries. Unless you're doing all your driving in the garage, they're going to take a hit from cold weather.

I would guess the cold batteries have as much or more of an impact than the denser air.

Who has done the Mazda AIO Hack?

My install seemed to go fine, but I'm getting a loud beeping noise if I try to go past the end or start of a list, and sometimes even moving around in the middle of the list. I think I'm gonna have to start over and use fewer tweaks.

Who has done the Mazda AIO Hack?

I didn't see that listed. How'd you do it? Could you upload a pic of the Speedometer? What do you like about it?

You're correct-ish. The car is for my wife. Our daughter is four.

Normally when talking summers a lot of humid places rival Phoenix for pure misery, but in this case Phoenix has most everywhere else in the country beat. It's not just comfort we're talking about. If you're not careful, your kids get burnt from the metal on the seat belts.

    2017 CX-5: Driven!!

That seems more confusing. If you bought a newly redesigned CX-5 that had been built in December 2016, you'd call it a 2016? how do you distinguish been redesigns?

2017 Impressions, Noise Comparison and Our New 2016 GT

We ended up having a bit of trouble with our purchase. We did the paperwork late Friday but they needed to get the car from another dealer about 30 miles away. Saturday, when they picked up the car, they discovered it had 3,300 miles on it. We considered swapping it for the Eternal Blue and...

Nice find. I'm half a day into ownership and already ran into needing a light down there. On a side note, where do you have your AUX cable routed to?

I liked the look of the silver, but my wife did not. Her preference was red, light blue and titanium, dark blue and grey, then silver. White and black were never even considered.

2017 Impressions, Noise Comparison and Our New 2016 GT

It's hard to say. The 2017 had the 17" rims and the 2016 had the 19", so it's not really apples to apples. The steering on the 2017 seemed a bit lighter. Depending on your preference that could be a plus or a minus.

They gave us their supposed best price for a blue, then said we could have the red for the same price as we were driving off to go get dinner. We considered going with the Eternal Blue and asking them to take $300 off the price, but in the end I decided it would be fun for my wife to have a red...

Yes an actual decibel meter (Radio Shack), but you're absolutely right. Those should be 69 and 72. I'll fix the post. Thanks. You can't compare one test to another because the road will make a huge difference. I deliberately took measurements on a noisy road.

2017 Impressions, Noise Comparison and Our New 2016 GT

We test drove a 2017 Touring and a 2016 GT today. The 2016 is pretty quiet--good enough for us. The 2017 definitely takes it a step further. I brought my decibel meter and measured both cars on the same stretch of road at 45 mph. The 2016 measured around 72. The 2017 measured around 69. I also...
