    Trailer & hitch

This is my HF trailer. I've had it for 5 years now. The heaviest load was removing 1-ton loads of gravel-laden soil in my backyard to the landfill. Here, it is used to transport a workbench (308 lbs). The side panels were sized to contain 1.5 cubic yards volume. For longer objects (lumber...

    Trailer & hitch

I installed a Curt Class III trailer hitch on my CX-5. It is for pulling a utility trailer and holding a bicycle rack. The wires for the harness connecting to the trailer light were run behind panels to the underside of the rear pumper and secured with a plastic piece. There is a thread on...

New; Questions on Extended Warranty and GAP Insurance.

I bought a '15 CX-5 GT AWD and were offered extended warranty and GAP insurance. It was a very interesting and comical experience. The finance person used fear tactic to sell me these items AFTER I have declined them when my salesman offered. Initial quote for extended warranty was ~$3200. I...

CX-5 AWD GT + Curt Class III hitch + Harbor Freight fordable trailer

Thanks Jonesey! I find the HF trailer very useful and am looking forward to towing it with my own vehicle instead of troubling a friend, who has been more than happy to help.

    How-To: Cleanly install a Non-Factory CX-5 Trailer Harness

Would the CURT Manufacturing 56011 T-Connector work on a 2015 CX-5 GT? It is not listed for the 2015 CX-5 on Curt's website.

CX-5 AWD GT + Curt Class III hitch + Harbor Freight fordable trailer

I can't find a wiring harness designed for the 2015 CX-5 GT with Tech. What are you using?

CX-5 AWD GT + Curt Class III hitch + Harbor Freight fordable trailer

Not sure which sub forum to post this, so sorry about that. I have a HF folding trailer, rated for about 1099 lbs capacity. Before getting the CX-5, I usually tow it with a borrowed SUV. Now that I have the CX-5, I plan to install a Curt Class III hitch (seems to be the popular choice here)...

    Detailers Unite

Felt, what kind of scrub brush did you use? The black plastic trim on another car is stained (white) with AIO after my last polishing attempt. I want to remove it, but not looking forward to the effort. Also, not sure what to use.

    Detailers Unite

I think AIO can correct fine defects such as swirls, etc. My CX-5 has some minor paint defects after delivery. After its first wash, I took AIO to the paint area by hand using a towel. The paint was restored to a mirror shine afterward. I also used it on an older TL with black paint and it...

    Detailers Unite

I'm new to this level of car detailing, but has been practicing. How many of you tape up the plastic trims prior to polishing or sealing? For my new CX-5, here is my plan: wash, clay, tape, PC7424 with AIO with a polishing pad, then Klasse sealant applied by hand.

    Show us your Tint...

MatR6, I know. I read your post with your CX-5 picture attached. So far, I only called one shop for quote. I anticipated some difference in cost due to geographical location, but at $1200 without mobile service is more than I can afford.

Tinting the rear to block out sun/heat, not to block out light. I don't want the windows any darker than factory spec.

I was quoted $1200 to tint all windows, front and back windshields of my CX-5 with 3M Crystalline today. 90% front windshield, 30% front windows, and 90% the back windows and rear windshield. Ouch! Expensive! This is in Sac, CA. Need more research.
