11 months old - rust on hatch

Is that larger bubble truly a rust bubble or water drop? My first thought was that it was rail dust embedded into the clear coat. Would you mind sharing which dealership took care of you when you brought this to their attention? I'm also in the Montreal area (south shore to be more specific)

Soul Red Mica paint is impossible to touch up

I am taking the car to a local bodyshop where a buddy works. His response was similar to what somebody suggested: blend and mix a red paint hue similar to the Soul Red Mica and touch up. I'll post pics once this has been taken care of and report back on the quality of work!

Soul Red Mica paint is impossible to touch up

Absolutely! Luckily I do have a contact in the professional autobody & paint domain. I think this is far beyond what a dinky touch-up paint stick can handle. He should be able to match the color, I take it?

Soul Red Mica paint is impossible to touch up

thanks for the comments, guys! I just had to have this car in the gorgeous Soul Red Mica, no questions asked. In the sun, the color pops like no other, so it's a love-hate thing when it comes to touching up road hazard incidents I suppose. The culprit was an errand large stone that jumped up...

    Free touch-up paint?

You're going to need it, as I learnt very quickly. Mazda's paint durability sucks :(

Soul Red Mica paint is impossible to touch up

Hey all, due to Mazda's super thin flaking paint, my brand new 2014.5 CX-5 has a 10mm section of paint missing on the lower driver side door I need to repair. The tri-bake BS technology paint got chipped off (maybe a stone) right down to the bare metal. What I've attempted: 1) used fiberglass...

Hood edge protector and paint film protection?

I am totally convinced with the OEM Mazda hood deflector! Just placed an order for one from "swagparts" on eBay. $54 + USPS shipping to Canada ($38). I had a hood deflctor on my daily driver Honda and it saved its paint (hood tip) and windshield multiple times from rocks and debris.

    Windshield scrach

When do you suppose Mazda will recognize and release a recall or Technical service bulletin associated to the obviously flawed windshield glass? It definitely falls under a Safety recall in my opinion, they should acknowledge it just like Honda did on their 7th gen Civics' seatbelt buckles being...

    CX-5 Heated Seats...Kind of weak?

2014.5 Touring (GS) model. Heated seats work as advertised with no complaints in -28 Celsius Montreal winters. God this winter season sucks :-/

Do you have a nickname for your CX-5?

I call mine "Rusty" to honor his fallen ancestors lol.

    Long distance road trip protection

Thanks for the advice, guys! Yeah, I've always been skeptical about the vinyl bras, even if it's just for long distance trips. I think I'll go with the stylish hood deflector + painter's tape. Since it's a leased car, I don't think I'll invest in the 3M clear bra.

    Long distance road trip protection

Hey everyone, I'm new to the Mazda scene, been a VW & BMW girl over the last 12+ years. Anyway, I'm taking into consideration Mazda's soft paint situation, and I'mthinking of picking up a vinyl front mask cover (bra) for the car's front end strictly for long distance road trips. I notice that...
