How many Brits? Fancy a cuppa?

Hello, not been on here for a while. My wife is looking to replace her 2013 2.2 175 AWD this year. Is the face lifted model much quieter than the old version. We will have to test drive the new version at some point in the next couple of months, but I just wanted to know others' thoughts...

Haha, don't worry, I only did it three or 4 times to see if I was imagining it. For the rest of the trip I was seeing how high I could get the average mpg readout. It went up to 59mpg, and then down to 55 after I had booted it a few times. It's just a shame that the car wasn't like this 2 years...

Well our mpg has always been a steady 40mpg, so I'll be interested to see what it returns at the pumps over the next tank. Maybe ours was a bit of a duffer, I was always underwhelmed by the performance, but now it revs much more cleanly and all the way up to the red line without hesitation.

Hello, has anyone had a routine software update performed in the last few months that seems to have made their car go a bit better...? I took ours to the local Mazda dealership because the oil pressure light came on, and they said that a recall had been issued a while ago for a new software...

The cold weather and winter diesel has affected my wife's cx5s economy - only 35mpg last fill up! The winter tyres are doing their job very well, however. Regarding the Volvos, there's a thread in the volvo forum about what xc60 owners are getting mpg wise. They are completely different in...

I'll be looking forward to a cold snap and some snowfall now, in a perverse sort of way! I think it's still a bit too warm to fit them this week tho...

I suppose not, lol! Well, I've decided to go for the Pirelli Scorpion winters, they weren't much more than the Vredeteins or Yokohamas and I was swayed by their test results. However, already the tyres have crept up by 3 quid a corner since I first looked at them! I wonder how much they'll be...

The article was in tyrepress.com and gave a summary of what Auto Bild had said: "Descending further down the list, below 20th place Auto Bild cautioned consumers to keep their hands off, as the bottom 30 tyres were kicked out after the first braking test Auto Bild said they offer only a small...

Sorry, I think I've caused some confusion here. Mazda said that the only approved tyre for the 19x7j rim is 225/55, 235 section tyres are not approved for use. They didn't say that I couldn't fit 17" wheels, as other models come with 17's anyway so they are clearly approved for use. My wife...

Thank you both for your comments. I spoke to Mazda UK who confirmed that the only approved size for the 19" is 225/55. I also saw a huge test in Auto Bild with 50 tyres, where the Yokohamas and Vredesteins didnt do well in the wet braking test. However, I have since seen that the Pirelli...

Yes, last winter was very mild. I can only remember scraping the ice of my car about three times. The Yokohama 902's are an option, so I am interested to hear how much they wore when you had them fitted. Many thanks

Has anyone put winter tyres on their Cx-5? If so, what have you gone for? There aren't many to choose from in the 225/55r19 size, only Yokohama and Vredestein really. Can you change size slightly, there seems to be much more choice in the 235/50 r19 size

Yes, the prices seem very reasonable. I was wondering what the 17" steelies look like though. Everyone knows what black 16" steel rims look like, but I've never seen 17" ones...

Hello, has anyone used mytyres.com or similar to buy winter tyres and wheels for their cx5? If so, have you got any pics of how the steel wheels look? Thanks in advance :)

Yep, 175 awd. I was driving more 'economically' than usual, shall we say, but it was at a constant speed with not many inclines. That was the computer read out over that distance tho, not an actual measurement.
