    2013~2016 2013 CX-5 - rear dampers leaking after 21k miles

I guess given the lack of responses, misting on the rear dampers on my car and those of another owner must be isolated issues. When I replace them I won't go with OE parts and try and find a damper that does what it supposed to do. If anyone has any recommendations of after market dampers that...

    2013~2016 2013 CX-5 - rear dampers leaking after 21k miles

Hi, I just had the annual MOT (mandatory safety inspection in the UK) and it was pointed out to me that both rear dampers have a light misting of oil - not a failure as the damping was within spec. The car (2013 2.2D AWD) has only done 21k miles of mostly gentle driving - all mine. A couple of...

19" Sport wheels refurbished under warranty

Not personally but the dealer may have done at the 1st and 2nd annual service.

19" Sport wheels refurbished under warranty

After 2 years, all 4 alloy wheels were showing signs of corrosion. The front more than the rears. The corrosion had started on the drum and the back and edges of the spokes. The wheels (and rest of the car) are cleaned regularly with ph neutral bodywork shampoo only. I rarely drive on salty...

Keeping top of dashboard clean - what type of detergant or cleaner is recommended

The top of the dash should only get dusty hence a simple hoover or microfiber to remove the dust should be sufficient. Else a little bit of clothes detergent in warm water. No need to buy expensive car products.

Millers Diesel Power Ecomax for diesel engines

I usually fill up with diesel from my local Asda but every now and then I used to use Shell V-power diesel, largely for its high-detergent and cleaning capabilities. Over the course of 2 years, I've noticed how much quieter and smoother the engine is with V power. The performance increase at...

    Windscreen washer jets froze!!!!

The washer fluid does not need mixing with water. It goes straight into the car, after being shaken of course.

    Windscreen washer jets froze!!!!

I doubt the fluid was diluted unless my local Mazda dealer made an error at the 1st service. Though the washer fluid was full or almost full when it went in.

    Windscreen washer jets froze!!!!

For the sake of clarity. I'm using winter strength washer fluid at a concentration that works to -20C. The washer fluid was not the problem. The washer jets appeared to impacted by the wind chill. I'll add there was freezing fog too in places and the washer jets had worked at the start of the...

    Windscreen washer jets froze!!!!

I top up the CX5 with the same stuff I use in the M3. Never had windscreen washer jets freezing in the M3 as they are heated. I was travelling in the CX5 when it was -4 C. After 20 mins, the washet jets would no longer spray and because of this, the windscreen became smeared with road grime when...

Door hinge and seat foam squeak sound

I had this issue too. Mentioned it to my local s**** dealer who said it was because the door seals were so good. bulls*** I said, the door seals are s*** and let in too much road noise. So the $tealer took a look and made the noise worse. I resolved it myself with gummi.

too much windscreen condensation and poor cabin filters

I usually pay about 30 but worth it compared to having the annoying problems with the Mazda. I might see if I can get a roll of the stuff or use one from a cooker hood / extractor and cut to fit.

too much windscreen condensation and poor cabin filters

I can only compare the CX5 to the M3 and other BMWs; the CX5 suffers from condensation when parked outside. Sometimes even for only a short time. It then takes a while to clear the windscreen with the AC on. I do not get condensation in the M3. In car smells. The cabin filters do not filter out...

Resuming Playback with 2014 CX-5 GT Tech Stereo and other issues

I'm having the bluetooth module replaced next week. It had to go to the dealer for the serial number to be taken from the current module before the new module could be ordered. It also had a new nav SD card as part of a recall.

How many Brits? Fancy a cuppa?

I have the cream leather seats and would believe that my local dealer also uses no seat covers as both were seats covered in black marks upon visits to fix issues. You have stated DAB radio? I'm very intreagued? :)

How many Brits? Fancy a cuppa?

My local dealer says there is a fix for the exessive wind noise on the driver's door. They ordered the parts in and my car is due to go in soon. Also to fix (for the 4th time) driver's window rattle when open.

Standard cabin filters allow too much smells and pollution in

The point is, the filter is rubbish compared to my BMW. I do not have to switch to recirculate mode to avoid smells in the M3. I do not want to breathe in stale air and have the interior windows mist up. Yet another sub standard item from Mazda.

new Mazda infotainment system firmware for CX-5 with TomTom coming soon

There is an option in the set up menu for the annoying start up message that (currently) only allows one to say ' accept' but at least it avoids the tiresome same message upon start up for the heap-of-sh** Tom Tom NB1 crap that Mazda decided to install in the car.

Standard cabin filters allow too much smells and pollution in

Has anyone else noticed how poor the cabin filters are at filtering out traffic pollution or strong smells such as fire smoke? I gather the CX-5 does not come with active carbon filters such as used by BMW. I wonder if these are available from Mazda or aftermarket? As the stock filters are poor IMO.
