Installed a Leather Steering Wheel Cover

I have a 2012 5 sport and the steering wheel was starting to have the vinyl covering on it wear off in spots. I thought I'd get one of those leather steering wheel covers that you sew on, and bought this...

Also, buy yourself some nylon/plastic dash removal tools. You can get them online or harbor freight has a set for $7.

What I need to get my hands on is the GT steering wheel, so I can have those Bluetooth buttons!

2012 Mazda5 Sport - upgrading to better OEM head unit

The problem you'll have using the factory mic location is that the factory mic seals to the underside of the cover, so sound only comes in from the two slits on the top. If you put an aftermarket mic inside there, sound from all around under the dash makes it to the mic, making it sound...

2012 Mazda5 Sport - upgrading to better OEM head unit

Honestly, you don't want to use that stock location for a mic anyways, the acoustics are terrible. I have an aftermarket Kenwood DNX570HD and the best place for the mic after several tries is on the top of the driver's side A-pillar. I put it inside the dash in the factory spot, on top of the...

Installed Double-DIN Kenwood Nav into 2012 Mazda5 Sport

Correct, I don't think crutchfield has the right data, because with that or the metra double-din kit you can easily fit a double-din GPS or DVD unit in your dash.

2012 Touch Screen In-Dash Has anyone installed one yet?

Check out my thread here about my install of a double-din deck: http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?123826617-Installed-Double-DIN-Kenwood-Nav-into-2012-Mazda5-Sport Regarding the information display, all you lose is just where it shows the volume level and radio station. You still...

Sub and amp between middle row seats?

It nice to hear someone actually talk about design parameters. It's funny when I was in high school I built all my own boxes using DOS speaker software to build the box to math the Q values of the subs. I always preferred a sealed box, but once bought a ported box. I tossed out the cardboard...

Sub and amp between middle row seats?

What about instead putting a single 8" sub in one of the rear compartments and hiding the amp in the tray. See this for an example: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3008760/2006-mazda-mazda5/page-4/ See this for a step by step how to build the actual fiberglass box...

Installed Double-DIN Kenwood Nav into 2012 Mazda5 Sport

I'm hoping to see what JVC comes out with this year. Their units boot extremly fast and the user interfaces are much quicker from the ones I've played with. However, the wife seems to like this Kenwood, so I'll probably just leave it since it's her daily driver. I also think I may have found...

Installed Double-DIN Kenwood Nav into 2012 Mazda5 Sport

Hello all, Spent the better part of the day installing a Kenwood DNX570HD navigation unit into our new 2012 Mazda5 sport. Here's a list of parts I used: Scosche 010MA1548B Dash Kit Metra 70-7903 Wiring Harness Metra 40-HD10 (the Scosche HAAB is the equivalent) antenna adapter Axxess ASWC-1...

Mazda5: Prices paid and related questions

We just got a new 2012 Mazda5 Sport AT in Liquid Silver with the rear bumper cover and cargo cover. It had 24 miles on it and has been sitting on their lot for like 8 months, so they did it for $16,900 + taxes and license fees (about $1600 more). Sold our 2007 honda CRV for almost the same...

Axxess ASWC Steering Wheel Control Interface

I just bought the ASWC-1 and dash kit, but still need a deck. I'll be documenting the whole install. I've done steering wheel interfaces before, typically you just splice in a few wires to the steering wheel wire harness and go.

    Aftermarket Stereo in 2012 5!

I got my Scosche dash kit from amazon for $29. The metra ones are cheaper but the scosche had both options for double and single DIN. Not to mention I have amazon prime and credits: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0072LG8AG/?tag=m20b7-20 I should be installing a new double-din deck with backup...

    New member, new Mazda 5

Hello all, Just scored a 2012 Mazda 5 Sport AT new from dealer (must've been sitting around a long time) yesterday in Liquid Silver. We weren't really in the market, but for $16.9K we couldn't pass it up. Coming from a 2007 CRV, so the sliding doors and handling are great!
