The bumper snaps into a series of clips along that seam. The last clip might not be fully seated leading to that protrusion. You might try loosening the screw and tapping the bumper with your hand and see if it snaps into place.

I have one and really like it. There was virtually no cabin resonance until it got cold out. I installed it immediately after taking delivery of the car so I cannot compare/contrast to the stock mount.

I take it this means the NA Thunder header modified design and mid pipe project is no more.
