If they can supercharge a BRZ, they can do a CX-5

Still no diesel option in the U.S. and looking like there never will be. The 2.5 doesn't have enough power to make me trade up.

    Lotta road noise

I'm going to do this. I've already put this inside the rear hatch and inside the front doors. Most of the noise does seem to come from the back so this should help.

Installing 8" Speakers in Mazda CX-5

It's a huge difference in bass as well as midrange. To get really good treble you have to add the dash speakers. I tested these speakers with and without a subwoofer and the subwoofer added very little beyond what these 8 inch speakers provide. I do highly recommend you sound deaden the doors...

2016 Mazda CX-5 - What do you not like?

Only 2 major things that annoy me and/or my wife 1. The manual cloth seats are too deep for someone with short legs. My wife has to put a cushion behind her low back so her calves don't scrape on the seats. 2. The back seats don't fold anywhere near to flat. Makes if very hard to slide big...

Air filter for CX-5 - is the dealer the only place we can get one?

Haven't heard much about AEM. Do they clean well and flow better than OEM?

What brand air filter do you recommend or avoid?

K&N finally got around to stocking an oil based air filter for the CX-5. Can't say they got around to making one, because it's the same one they've had for the 2.0l Mazda 3 for quite some time. From other posts here and other sites, I'm not convinced that this type of filter is the best for...

What brand air filter do you recommend or avoid?

I know I'm going to stir up all kinds of sh*# with this post, but I love to get advice. K&N finally got around to stocking an oil based air filter for the CX-5. Can't say they got around to making one, because it's the same one they've had for the 2.0l Mazda 3 for quite some time. From other...

    Blue engine cover...

The Mazda 6 cover and the white illumination in the interior is much more sophisticated. I wonder if the engine covers are swappable. I'd trade mine to a Mazda 6 owner that wanted a blue one.

Shifting from 1st gear to 2nd gear

You should never have to rev match on an upshift. Only a downshift.

Product Release! CorkSport 2013+ CX-5 Axle Back Exhaust

I'd like to hear it compared to the stock exhaust. I like my stock exhaust at full throttle but it's so boring at anything less.

LineX Spray vs Rear Bumper Guard

Plasti dip works really well for this and is easily removable and easy to put on. Search the site and you can find pictures of people that used it. I did a whole front bra with it and its great.

Hood protector - Is one available?

I did my own bra from Plasti-Dip used just over one can to do whole front dam area and front eight inches of hood. It does a great job of protection and even saved me from a parking lot fender rub. Took me about an hour and cost less than $20. You can search on the site for pictures. I did...

Mazda6 Skyactiv diesel starting Rolex 24 tomorrow

Engine cut out while climbing mountain pass

I also tried hitting the brakes while accelerating both half throttle and full throttle. The brakes slowed the car down, but no effect on engine programming.

What are the OEM tires and are they any good in the snow?

I have the stock 17" tires on and they are okay in the snow. THey only have 7,500 miles on them so they still have a lot of tread. Starting and stopping are decent. With AWD, I can start out even on a fairly steep hill. Cornering traction and stopping traction are typical of an all season tire...

    CX 5 GS Snow Handling

Took my AWD CX-5 out in light snow this week with stock 17" all season tires - about 7,000 miles on them. I liked the starting and stopping and straight line traction. Even starting and stopping on a hill, it just goes. Hardly any slippage. Going around corners it does fine unless I really try...

    Remote start

Does installing an aftermarket remote start like the Vipers void the Mazda warranty? What happens if say a year or two down the line the car won't start via the in dash push button? Who covers that? I got an awesome deal on Viper remote start, installation and upgraded security system and...

Air filter for CX-5 - is the dealer the only place we can get one?

Interesting that Napa (and Amazon) list the same air filter for the Mazda 3 as they do for the CX-5. By extrapolation, that would mean the K&N air filter for the Mazda 3 (which fits all the 3 engines including the Skyactive 2.0) would fit the CX-5. Also by extrapolation, if the stock filter...
