    Saving fuel on CX9

15XX miles, 17.9 mpg in 50/50 split now. I figure that's pretty good for a 2010. I've been hovering around 16 in pure city driving.

    Reconsidering car choice

Well, if you're having two kids then think about space. I have a CX-5 and we're able to get the two kids in, a Baby Jogger City-Mini double stroller, a pack and play, and little else. It is tricky. It was even worse in our CX-7. The CX-9 with the back seats down has been a breeze. With the...

    Saving fuel on CX9

K, did a fill up and got 16.4 with nearly exclusive city driving. Most of those trips were just a couple miles one way. It's getting closer than my CX-7 ended up getting compared to stated mileage(ended up w/ 17mpg v. 19mpg). My CX-5 gets slightly better than the stated mileage. Wife loves it.

    Saving fuel on CX9

Ran through our first tank on a 2010 CX-9 Touring FWD and came up w/ 20.1 (Fuelly) w/ 50/50 driving. We're working on tank #2 so we'll see how bad it gets with about 70/30. Coming from a CX-7 personal vehicle that got 17mpg. My CX-5 is still getting 26mpg... makes me happy.

2011 cx-9 GT too good to be true?

@ 36k miles then I would say that it's a rental car. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, but it's worth looking into. I'm going to do a new post on our CX9 purchase, but it doesn't seem terrible price. Most dealerships go from a 20% margin. They could have had the car for sale for a long period...

Do fuel injectors click? Coolant Q too.

Which Lexus do you have? The Lexus seemed a bit quieter inside the cabin than the CX-7 does compared to clicking.

    CX-7 Oil Cooler O-Ring Replacement

I'm not sure about this one - i've looked around. Here's a good picture of it: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0074AR97G/?tag=m20b7-20 It looks like a pokemon ball... very odd.

    CX-7 Oil Cooler O-Ring Replacement

Found another forum that posted (without results) another dealer that you can order online from. I've emailed the dealer and will post results. The o-ring in the diagram is 4.00 + shipping.

    CX-7 Oil Cooler O-Ring Replacement

Quiet in these forums - http://www.***************/ProSport_Oil_Filter_Adaptor_p/ps34unf16.htm Street Unit oil filter adapter - guess I can't post links. I would love to know if this would alleviate the problem - I'm assuming that the oil cooler (black unit with two fittings and tubes) sits on...

    CX7 for family?

We have a CX7 and CX5 - they are both roomy enough for the one child(15 months). They fit the jogging stroller - which was massive - and the new smaller stroller. I will say that going on an extended trip you'd want a smaller stroller rather than a big one. We crammed a small stroller, the pack...

CX-7 Turbo vs. CX-7 Without Turbo

Well.. on paper you're going from an 8-ish 0-60 to a 10-ish 0-60. We have a turbo CX7 and a new CX5. There's a huge difference in power band. But you also pay for it in gas mileage.

    CX-7 Oil Cooler O-Ring Replacement

Thanks for this - Dealership told me the same thing, but I was looking for another option. I'd hate to spend 450.00 on parts when all I need is a 3.00 O-ring.

Do fuel injectors click? Coolant Q too.

Thanks - I'm a little paranoid since something started acting up in the cooling system(be it leak in radiator or leaky cap). It's made the clicking noise since I've had the car, but want to make sure I'm not just telling myself something that isn't true.

Do fuel injectors click? Coolant Q too.

I'm sure this is a dumb question - Do the fuel injectors make a ticking noise on the Mazda, especially when cold? Our Lexus IS350 had a clicking/tapping noise that the dealership said were the injectors. I've always assumed that this is the case with the CX-7. If I'm looking at the engine bay...

The rise of the "fake" engine roar

There's a couple different ways of doing this. Some cars use speakers, but others use resonators that open up during heavy throttle. The Subaru BRZ does this. Interesting ideas.

Does the 2009 cx7 2.3t have the same comon problems as the 2007 engine did

I don't believe they do. The recalls were only covered for the '07. I have an '07 and haven't had those issues, knock on wood. I believe 2008+ are good.

    HVAC - not blowing hard

Anyone else have this issue? About three years ago we had to replace the compressor and had that reimbursed under the recall. I'm assuming this is a fan motor issue, but would that have been replaced when they did the compressor? Danke

    CX-5 Lowering Springs

I wouldn't mind seeing more pictures of this - I measured and I have 3.5" between top of tire and bottom of black trim.

    Bottom Plastic Cladding

From the other car forum I frequent when I asked for a good protectant: all products for treating the black vinyl and rubber parts on a car are a blend of glycerin, silicone, mineral oils, plus maybe some eye-of-newt, toe-of-frog etc. The main difference is in the liquid carrier, which will be...

    CX-5 Startup

My CX-7 did it during cold days... My 300ZXTT did it during cold days... This just happens to be standard fair for most cars and even more purpose driven in the CX-5
