I really like the Outback as well and very close to getting one over the CX5 - but it had to be an Outback in manual (and they didn't have one at the time). I did drove the CVT Outback and these guys are right - CVTs give me a feeling of being letdown - like that gear is kickin in yeah - oh wait...

I've been using these - drain plugs with rubber gasket. They seal very well. I get them at Autozoone - about 4 for 3.00

I put on Firestone A/Ts - 235 65 17 All Terrains about 3 weeks ago and noticed a huge improvement over the OEMs. in dry and wet here in NJ. I just used these A/Ts in 1" of snow this past week (not really ice - just snow). The A/Ts performed better in every aspect I can feel, than the OEM Yokos...

I have had my 6 speed 2.0L for 2.5 years. I have roof racks as well. Overall with 75% highway driving I get consistently 31mpg - calculated by hand. (the computer says ~32.5) I do not hypermile, I rev up and down, etc..

My stock Geolanders lasted 34k - they are down to the wear indicators and are done. I do not like the OEM tires. I'm having Firestone AT's put on Wed..we'll see

Good story, good writeup, good pics. Smokin deal! I too sold my truck for the CX5 - I immediately bought a 1000lb capacity 4 ' x 8' trailer for the CX5 (foldable HF trailer but it's fine) - which is a 2' bigger bed than my truck had.
