any pics of gun metal gray plasti dip rims on meteor gray?

http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?123812973-CX-5-Photos-Share-your-shots-with-us!/page22 ^ Post number 318 - this is my Sky Blue CX-5 with black plastidip on the wheels and a light coating of the glossifier on top. I loved the way it looked, but went with black aftermarket rims...

    Bye,bye CX5....

That's really odd - I'm young (mid 20's), 6 feet tall, and exactly 185lbs as well and in very good shape too. I have found these seats to be some of the most comfortable I've sat in. I guess that really goes to show that seat preference is unique to the individual. .

Post Pictures of Your CX-5 Mods, Upgrades and Accessories!

FYI - I painted my roof rails black using PlastiDip from Home Depot and they look identical to the ones posted above. It cost $5 and took an hour. Just another option to consider. I also use my roof rails and cross bars all the time - the PlastiDip has held up very well.

    AWD/DSC and oversteer question

No, it is not possible. You might "drift" for a couple seconds, but you cannot hold a line in any way. The DSC kicks in and wants to straighten the car out so it plows. I've driven plenty of FWD, RWD, 4x4, and various AWD systems. This CX-5 behaves more closely to a FWD car when playing in a...

    AWD/DSC and oversteer question

I came from an 07 WRX and that thing was mucho fun in the snow. I could put it in a snow drift and get the back end around with a tap of the throttle. In the snow covered parking lots it almost felt rear-wheel biased. I just saw a video that said the brand new WRXs are 55% rear drive and 45%...

Manual Shifting the Automatic 2.5 AWD

You can take it all the way to the redline. I've driven many "manumatics" or autos with this manual mode, and the CX-5 is by far the best so far. It is true "racing style" where you push forward for downshifts and pull back for up shifts. Additionally, engine breaking is even easier b/c if...

    CX-5 AWD snow performance

I never thought I'd ever say out loud that I agree with MikeM in front of you all, but I agree with MikeM about the snow conditions! I'd be that guy buying airfare to catch some of that powder! Crossing my fingers for good conditions in Killington here in Feb. The CX-5 handled wonderfully in...

Impressions and comparison after a week with my rav4.

Same here CX-SV, no hood shake on my 13' GT (I do have side mirror shake, but I get by fine with it)

    CX-5 AWD snow performance

It's nit picking, but you're videos are a comparison of Snow tires vs. Summer tires (or tyres). All season vs. summer is a big difference, just as all season vs. snow tires is a big difference. That said, in the hill climb video, those "summer" tires looked like all seasons at a quick...

Impressions and comparison after a week with my rav4.

Thank you for the comparison. I certainly love my CX-5 and bought it before I knew about a Rav4 regen. I VERY much agree with you about the throttle response. Every other vehicle I drive, I notice how finicky the CX-5's throttle is. My wife's Elantra is much better, as is my brother's 2014...

    Mazda Fog Lights

The stock fog lights are absolute garbage. I never use mine. However, the fog lights on my wife's Elantra GT are great. They add a great amount of light to the edges of the road and the area directly in front of the car. That said, I have the GT w/ Tech package and I feel the headlights are...

    CX-5 AWD snow performance

The snowiest ski area in the world is in Japan. The best place in Washington State averages approx. 50 feet of snow per year. Japan averages approx. 100. US does not compare to snowfall of Japan.

rare violent and rough engine starts....

Update - I had these issues when I first bought the vehicle almost 2 years ago. After those first two months or so, it never happened again. Also, the Mazda dealership never took me seriously either. I had to explain to them 5 times that I understood why the engine is louder upon startup and...

CX-5 Stuck in the Snow Adventure - Winter Driving in Colorado

This concerns me a little b/c I take many trips to the ski slopes every season and like you, I enjoy testing the waters every now and then. So far so good, deepest I've been in was 12-14 inches, but that was backing out of a spot and out of the parking lot. Again, I appreciate you sharing the...

Penny for your thoughts? Considering trading CX-5 for new Mazda3

That 3 sure does seem to have a much more intuitive "infotainment" system. If you're wanting to go to a small hatchback like the 3, I'd check out the GTI's and what Ford has to offer as well (unless you're a straight-up Mazda fan). Personally, I like the austhetics of the 3 better than those...

    About to be new owners

Good for you and welcome to the CX-5 club! I bought mine in March 2012 and like it more today than when I bought it! You'll love your new purchase.

    CX-5 AWD snow performance

@TreyP - I agree, comparing it to RWD isn't fair, but it was the only non AWD/4WD vehicle with us. I did see a Chevy Maliby with very bald all seasons that was having a rough go, but it was doing slightly better than the truck. My old man had a 2WD Chevy Silverado when we lived in Buffalo -...

Those with Aftermarket Wheels, are you having TPMS problems???

In reference to the BSM light coming on and blinking - this happened to me the other day as well. I went to the manual and it said the BSM system will "pause" if it isn't used for a while. It indicates it has paused by flashing. This makes a lot of sense since it came on when I was visiting...
