    Rear end issue

Hopefully someone has had this issue: I have a 93 Miata and when cornering the rear end clunks and seems to shift to one side (kick out) All suspension parts seem to be tight. I have new coil-overs all the way around. There does seem to be some play in the output shaft from the differential...

    Replacing Lower Oil Pan

Sorry I did not reply right away. As you can tell from my name, I am not on this forum very often. To answer your questions, I did replace the oil pan with OEM purchased from AutoZone. The exhaust only was in the way of a couple bolts that I was able to get at with an open end wrench. It was a...

    IMMEDIATE HELP NEEDED---rear brakes

If it was me, and actually yesterday it was. I would just clean up the guide pins, grease them up and put them back on. I put on new rotors and pads also. Two weeks ago I did the fronts (new pads and rotors). The front pads and rotors were in worse condition than the rears, but the rear...

    IMMEDIATE HELP NEEDED---rear brakes

Thanks for the help, but it ended up being that the caliper guide pins were rusty and gummed up. I cleaned them up. Greased them and put it back together. Now it works.

    what else could it be?

Had a similar problem with my son's 02 P5. Ended up being a crack in the hose that connects the air filter box to the throttle body. Got a new hose from Autozone and the problem was solved. Hope this helps.

    IMMEDIATE HELP NEEDED---rear brakes

I did some searches and did not find what I needed. I am replacing the rear brakes on my son's 02 P5. I have replaced brakes on many vehicles, so I am fairly mechanical. I did find the step on backing off the bolt for the caliper piston...after much fighting to get the caliper back on. I am...

    Need a new battery

I did a search, but was unable to find the answer to my question, so here it is. The battery in my 02 P5 is starting to leak at the terminals, so I am thinking about getting a new battery, but am unsure as to which one to get. Price is a major factor in my choice. How many cold cranking amps...

    Replacing Lower Oil Pan

Ordered a gasket with the oil pan and bought red rtv. Replacement went very well. Bolts came right out and the pan came off fairly easy. I was able to get it off and the new one on without taking the exhaust apart. (I did not want to open more cans of worms then I needed to.) The whole job...

    Replacing Lower Oil Pan

Thank you. I was not reading the diagram correctly. The numbers you mention are not labeled with ft-lbs. They just give the 14-18. So, thanks for the quick reply and helping me figure this out. Dan

    Replacing Lower Oil Pan

I see that this thread is almost a year old, but if anyone has the torque specs on the oil pan bolts I would appreciate you posting them up. I am going to be changing out the oil pan on my son's 02 P5 tomorrow and I have not found the torque ratings yet. I have downloaded a service manual and...

    Need help!!!

Thanks for all the info. If the oil pan comes in tomorrow like it is supposed to, I will be attempting this tomorrow night and probably into Saturday. I am hoping that this will be easy, but I am planning on it being a pita. Thanks again, Dan

    Need help!!!

Last August we got my son an 02 P5 with over 120,000 miles on it. It had some rust on it, the fogs did not work, the rear hatch supports did not support the hatch and one of the rear speakers did not work. Fogs are fixed - one not plugged in and the other burnt out. New supports installed. New...
