The chinacharger thread

Naw, I think it failed mainly from neglect from the previous owner. I always let her idle for at least 30 seconds after any drive.

My chinacharger came in. 0.60 compressor, 0.63 turbine. Its huge and heavy. Should spool late and have great top end which is what I am looking for. Only thing that sucks is that I am stuck with an internal gate for now, but with my Blitz EBC I think I will be in good shape.

Going to try and clean up a few minor casting imperfections, but otherwise looks pretty good considering how much it costs. Now to see how many months/years it lasts I guess.

New MSP owner and I'm a little suspect on my turbo. DEFINITELY SUBSCRIBING. I am glad to see someone taking the gamble and posting their experience. I would love to hear from other members with first hand experience.

Props to you guys for not just automatically turning your noses up to the idea like so many otherpeople on so many other forums. Wish I had the time to contribute to threads like these. Props for going with a t3/4. I could give a fack if I make peak power later as long as its reasonable. I don't race around stoplight to stoplight like a hooligan. Might be less shock on this diff too.

Noob question. What's the nozzle on the intercooler adapter for? Our OEM Garrett's don't have that?

The nozzle on the outlet adapter is so I can run a pure boost source to my wastegate. It will allow me to get faster response on my wastegate since my line going to it will be less then 6" long. It will also help me prolong the life of the wastegate since the diaphragm isn't being pulled/pushed on it will only be pushed on with the boost only source.

Did you buy the adapter like that, or did you modify it? Sorry if you already stated, and I missed it.

LoL now I feel even more noob hahah I really look forward to seeing how this works out for you guys. I don't know if my turbo is on its way out. But ideally, buy a NEW GSP for 300$ and sell a used GARRETT for 3-400$?! Doesn't seem like too bad of a 1 time gamble.
