    Brake Flush @ 53k miles

I think it's been overdue, original brake fluid. Use a brake fluid tester, showed 2% water.

Thoughts on Replacing Brake Fluid every 24K per Maint Schedule??

I actually purchased one of those brake fluid testers but can't seem to figure out how to remove the mesh filter that's inside the master cylinder reservoir. The fluid is definitely below the mesh. Has someone who's replaced brake fluid tell me how to remove it?

    Morimoto H11 HID

I debated for a long time whether or not to install HIDs. The Black Friday sale definitely helped but was really impressed with how it turned out. They have almost identical stock cut-off line. Most importantly, I can see much clearer at night especially in areas where there are no street...

    2017 CX-5 Auto start

Look at iDatalink. I have a 2014 and have the HC2352AC installed. It enables the OEM Fob to start the car with lock 3X's. The module also has secure takeover, so if you have the OEM Fob with you when you press on the brake it doesn't shut off the car.

Guide CX-5 Factory Remote Starter - Install and Program

I opted to purchase the idatastart HC2 and got it professionally installed. Smaller remote than OEM and has takeover mode so the engine does not shut off when the door is opened. If the key is not with you once you put your foot on the brake, it will shut the engine off. The only downside is...

    New transmission @ 35k miles

2014 Touring. The only symptom was the transmission holding gears and won't shifting. When it was really cold outside, it would sometimes hold the gear for longer than 10 seconds and I would have to manually shift up to get it to the next gear. I only took it to the dealership regarding the 2...

    New transmission @ 35k miles

Just got the CX-5 back from the dealership. The transmission started holding the gears, especially when it's colder outside. The mechanic noted the fluid was dark and smelled burnt. New transmission was covered under warranty, so if anyone else notices that the transmission is talking longer...

    You Gotta Be Kidding Me!!!!

It depends on your area, but in mine I get offers from 3 different Mazda dealers with oil change specials. It's usually around $50 US with a coupon, but it involves staying at the dealership and getting harassed by sales. Mazda doesn't provide a rental car when I take it in for service like my...

    Change your cabin air filter

I'm at 17k miles. I would have ordered through MedCenter but shipping for just the filter was too much. Amazon had it for $23. If you are fine with the generic brand, TYC makes it. Saw it on RockAuto for ~$14 From the maintenance schedule, you replace the cabin filter every 2 year or 30k miles...

    Introduction

Thanks for the comments. It's actually a MK6 Golf R and I didn't stray away from VW, still own it. The CX-5 is actually my daily and the R just happens to be my weekend grocery getter now. CX-5 was overall great car for the money and lowest ownership cost. I was surprised that CX-5 came with...
