2014 CX-5 2.2L Diesel with oil pressure problem

You are most likely using the wrong oil. The diesel engine requires a totally different oil compared to the petrol version. You cannot just jump up or swap around to what ever grade oil. It requires to be specific and you would most likely find the oil strainer & pump is clogged up due to the...

2014 CX-5 2.2L Diesel with oil pressure problem

Looks like I have the CX 8 over the holidays for most likely another 4 weeks. Mazda confirmed that they replaced all the parts for the Shutter valve recall. They had the car running and performed further tests in relation to the oil pressure problem. Results?? Test confirm it is out of range...

2014 CX-5 2.2L Diesel with oil pressure problem

Firstly, local Mazda dealer has been leading the charge with my CX 5. It has suffered the shutter valve problem which is subject to a recall. So they have the car for about 4 week to replace exhaust camshaft, shutter valve, injectors, vacuum servo, remove sump & clean, inspect oil pump. Subject...

2014 CX-5 2.2L Diesel with oil pressure problem

My Cx5 purchased Dec, 2015 with 51,000 kms. When purchase I confirmed with the Mazda dealer that every service was performed almost on time and every update was applied. Changed the oil immeadiately, and then changed oil at 55,000 k's and then at every 5,000. Oil filter at every 10,000. Used...

The 7. & 8. are the litres per 100km figures. The 29.9mpg is the average of all the entries and then converted to US mpg. After playing around with the Fuelly site, it appears my average UK mpg is around 35.

OBDII Readers & Apps.....what do you use?

With the advent of modern technology and very cheap electronics & apps, what monitoring apps are you using and what do you like to look at. I don't monitor the car all the time, I just use it every now and then just to check 'whats going on' I have the Forscan app using a mobile phone to read...

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

Penrite DL1 is the one I use. There appears not to be alot of choice, but the Penrite has slowly put their prices up. Paid $55, then $57 and the latest $62, over the oil changes. Use the Ryco ST432 oil filter. Its meant to have better filtration and last for 15k, but I change out at 10k. Reset...

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

....I need to type faster, Moonlighter (doh) Same here recently. After reconciling the dollars comparing the LR Discovery with the CX-5, I was only spending an extra $25- $30 over the year. So now I do an oil change every 5K and check everything. Then as per the Mazda service schedule for...

    Anyone know how to...

Oh, yes....can you be willing to share on how you went about this? One of the biggest annoyance the CX-5 & DPF regen is that there is no simple telltale light to show that it's active. Of course I have a OBD reader and Forscan but I don't run this every time. When I know I'm doing a regen I...

    Advice appreciated please

If knowledge is power, then you would have a OBD reader with the Forscan software. This will read codes and it will tell you the problem you have. It can also reset some of the codes and then you can see if they return, all before taking it back to the dealer.
