This started two days ago: I lower the driver-side window on my CX5 and notice an odd, almost grinding sound. The sound is short and occurs right when the window starts going down. I hear nothing when the window goes back up. Any advice on what is causing the sound is appreciated.

Thank you for the replies! I have also seen online that just as long as the cleaning solution is ammonia-free that it should be okay and not harm the windows.

I have a question about cleaning tinted windows. My CX5 is the first vehicle I have owned with tinted windows but I understand that I can't use cleaners like "Windex" because they contain ammonia. What can I use?
