I guess given the lack of responses, misting on the rear dampers on my car and those of another owner must be isolated issues. When I replace them I won't go with OE parts and try and find a damper that does what it supposed to do.
If anyone has any recommendations of after market dampers that...
Hi,
I just had the annual MOT (mandatory safety inspection in the UK) and it was pointed out to me that both rear dampers have a light misting of oil - not a failure as the damping was within spec. The car (2013 2.2D AWD) has only done 21k miles of mostly gentle driving - all mine. A couple of...
After 2 years, all 4 alloy wheels were showing signs of corrosion. The front more than the rears. The corrosion had started on the drum and the back and edges of the spokes.
The wheels (and rest of the car) are cleaned regularly with ph neutral bodywork shampoo only. I rarely drive on salty...
The top of the dash should only get dusty hence a simple hoover or microfiber to remove the dust should be sufficient. Else a little bit of clothes detergent in warm water. No need to buy expensive car products.
I usually fill up with diesel from my local Asda but every now and then I used to use Shell V-power diesel, largely for its high-detergent and cleaning capabilities. Over the course of 2 years, I've noticed how much quieter and smoother the engine is with V power. The performance increase at...
I doubt the fluid was diluted unless my local Mazda dealer made an error at the 1st service. Though the washer fluid was full or almost full when it went in.
For the sake of clarity. I'm using winter strength washer fluid at a concentration that works to -20C. The washer fluid was not the problem. The washer jets appeared to impacted by the wind chill. I'll add there was freezing fog too in places and the washer jets had worked at the start of the...
I top up the CX5 with the same stuff I use in the M3. Never had windscreen washer jets freezing in the M3 as they are heated. I was travelling in the CX5 when it was -4 C. After 20 mins, the washet jets would no longer spray and because of this, the windscreen became smeared with road grime when...
I had this issue too. Mentioned it to my local s**** dealer who said it was because the door seals were so good. bulls*** I said, the door seals are s*** and let in too much road noise. So the $tealer took a look and made the noise worse. I resolved it myself with gummi.
I usually pay about 30 but worth it compared to having the annoying problems with the Mazda. I might see if I can get a roll of the stuff or use one from a cooker hood / extractor and cut to fit.
I can only compare the CX5 to the M3 and other BMWs; the CX5 suffers from condensation when parked outside. Sometimes even for only a short time. It then takes a while to clear the windscreen with the AC on. I do not get condensation in the M3.
In car smells. The cabin filters do not filter out...
I'm having the bluetooth module replaced next week. It had to go to the dealer for the serial number to be taken from the current module before the new module could be ordered. It also had a new nav SD card as part of a recall.
