Yeah, bought new in 2010 and it just past the 7yr they offer. Looks like they have calculated that it will likely fail after 7yrs, so instead of 8, 9 or 10 yrs (10 yrs being the common for many recall), they offer 7. If they are not doing anything about it, this will be my first and last Mazda.

So, our transfer case leak just on time after the warranty ends, we only have 47k miles on the ODO. How soon i need to get it replaced with the leak? We are trying to get Mazda to replace it as a warranty item, as these units should have been a recall instead in all seriousness.

This is stupidest thing ever seen in a vehicle. I don't know why someone would want this outlet to be ON ALL TIME.....what the F are those people smoking. I don't know why would ANY POWER OUTLET NEEDS TO BE ON after the car is shut off.....idiots....I would avoid charging any stupid gadgets than...

I choose the Touring because the GT has too much ugly chromes, though the extra features are great but I don't think it's worth the extra $$$. BSM should have been standard on all.

Rather funny that the BMW folks who got chrome trim work their ass out to shadow line it with vinyl, while the mazda folks who usually get the color matched would pay to get it chrome.....haha....everyone just wants to change something.....

You don't have to drill holes if you don't want to, I tuck them in the coin box which I am not using (2thumbs) Would be nice if they can be replace with an OEM switches - can't find a part no. for that...any idea?

Can't really agree on the "ruinning the resale value". This is just like saying, installing the Homelink/Autodim mirror will ruin the car resale value. This unit is probably not labelled as "Mazda" but I bet a bunch of other car manufacturer's OEM these and built them into their cars. DEI made...

Don't forget about your $500 cash back since you're a current mazda owner :) I was not, so I didn't get that when we bought ours.

That's why there's also an override switch to do what you just said :) Can't say if it will turn the lights off, but this comes with an adjustable timer which will turn itself off after the ignition is off :)

I don't know about anyone else, but this mod is definitely very handy especially when I am so used to my other cars which have these standards. I am too lazy to turn the lights on and off when passing through tunnels. Too bad I have no idea about retrofitting a rain sensor, else I would do that...
