Those links did help but i'm still looking for a little bit more info.
This seems like an excellent write up for swapping a Fusion engine to a Mazda 6. Any ideas on what might be different for a Mazda 5? I can't imagine there being much, if any differences at all. I can't see it being cost...
Well i've been looking at the Duratec 2.3's out of like a Fusion. I can have one of those for 500 bucks or less. Cheapest MZR i've found is 1200 bucks with a zillion damn miles. There's a local yard with a Duratec with 38K for 300 bucks. The intake is cracked, big whoop. Basically I don't care...
It needs more than a head job. It needs pistons as well. And beings that the plugs got smashed i'm sure the cylinder walls are scored up too. And yes, these are chain driven.
I've got a 2006 Mazda 5 with the 2.3 auto. Engine is toast. Apparently the timing jumped and all 4 pistons have valves smashed in them. My questions is what other engines will interchange with the 5? Can I use a Mazda 3 or 6 with the 2.3 engine?
I've dealt with airbag stuff before from swapping bags to clocksprings to modules to pretensioner belts. I'm not scared of it. I just don't know what's wrong with it.
This one does it contantly. Everyime it gets driven.
As the title says. It's giving us Code 19 indicated in the cluster by one long flash, followed by 9 shorts flashes. It started doing this probably 10K ago.
I've tried searching on Google but everyone seems to say it's something different so I don't know what to think. Any of you Mazda 5 guys...
Thanks guys. Any of you happen to know anything about this? http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?123806922-06-Mazda-5-Trans-Problem&highlight=
2006 Mazda 5 Touring? 77K Has the auto with the option to shift manually.
Has the P0768 code for the Shift Sol D Ckt....seems like a common problem. Anything we can do other than replacing the solenoid? And how hard is the solenoid to replace?
Trans fluid level is fine. Doesn't smell burnt etc.
