The USB does charge your phone but at a very slow amp or almost nothing, just keeping your phone powered basically. If one would want to charge their phone, they are better off getting a USB Car Charger...

I know on mine - the iphone says that it is plugged in and charging - but the % charge never goes up... which is in line with what they are saying - however there has to be some power on the usb port otherwise the usb stick wouldn't work at all....

Charges on my 2014 Touring/Tech too. Once again dealers don't know s***.

My phone charges at the normal speedy rate on my 2013 Touring/Tech CX-5.
