Broken Rear window

The wife just backed up the 5 into a concrete slab and shattered the rear window... good thing there was tint or glass would have gone all over the place. $320 to replace... there goes the funding for the 18" tires... bummmer:'(

Isn't that glass tempered, therefore meaning it would shatter but remain in tact as a sheet? Maybe that's just for a stress fracture rather than a direct impact though.

Nevertheless, broken auto glass isn't a fun endeavour no matter how you cut it, sorry

Only the front glass has the film that keeps it together. Tempered glass just means it will all shatter into little squares that are not as dangerous as slabs of plate glass.

Didn't get a chance to take pics but the glass broke into tiny little pieces. the tint kept most of it from making a huge mess. it was neat to see the glass shop guy take the glass and fold it in two like paper...

This is not the first time I heard about the broken rear window. My friend broke his 5 last year. Same thing happen, back up then......@#$%!
