So I went test driving a GT yesterday, and found that my local dealership adds an addendum to the main sticker with two additional charges added to the selling price of the car - the first is tinted windows at $399 and the second is their "Desert protection package" which includes lifetime synthetic oil changes every 5000 miles. They want $999 for this. Figuring at $75 per synthetic change, this doesn't even start paying back till ~65K miles. And while I want tinted windows, last time I checked they cost about half this much to be done by a reputable shop. I am guessing that these items are padding the MSRP, so that you can maybe dicker them down to paying full MSRP rather than invoice. Sigh...
