aye guys, im getting ready to put in a jl 12w-7 with a mrd- something 501, my question is, can this be installed using the stock deck of our mazda 3s? or am i going to have to buy an adapter from radio shack. what do you guys recommend i do to install this set up?

You'll need a Line Out Converter (LOC aka Hi-lo converter) in order to connect the amp. You can probably get away with using a 2 channel LOC connected to the rear speaker outputs on the factor deck. I don't think RadioShack carries this sort of thing.

Or if the amp has high level inputs, then you would only need wire!

Unfortunately the Alpine MRD amps only have line level inputs, I have the MRD-M301.

so ill probaly just need a hi-lo converter and ill be all set? im not really sure so please let me know. thanks again.

That and RCA cables and you'll be set.

thanks a bunch bluntman, all we need now is a dub sac and a wrap and we'll all be set.
