Owner in Ukraine needs help

I just received an email from a CX-9 AWD owner in the Ukraine. He says that the rear wheels aren't being engaged on slippery surfaces, though the TCS/DSC indictor lights up and the 4WD signal (???) blinks some of the time.

He says the dealer has no service manual for the CX-9, so they can't help him.

He's asking for service documentation and recommendations.

Anyone here have any ideas?

IIRC (been a while since I sold mazdas) the 4wd light illuminates ONLY during malfuctioning situations. It is, for lack of a better explaination, a CEL light for the AWD system.

so yeah his conditions sound right (4wd light illuminating and no rear wheel engagement). I dont, however, have any documentation or service manuals

I thought the CX-9 is a US only product. That's certainly why his dealer would not have a manual.

I sell the manuals, however, I can't ship to Ukraine. If he has someone stateside who could send it to him, I can do that.

It's $140 shipped to US address.
