Yet Another MIL Eliminator Question

:
2000 Mazda Miata MX5
Unlike most of the posts pertaining to the use of a mil eliminator with miatas that do not have a cat, my miata still has a cat. Since the CEL threw the cat bad code, and since this happened after only 10k miles since replacing my catalytic converter, I wanted to first determine what is causing my cat to burn out before replacement. But I need to have my car inspected now and that can't happen til I eliminate the cel I figured I'd put in the mil eliminator fix using the resistor nd capacitor solution (I had the parts already). But after running around town a few times, I threw the code for no O2 activity and the cel light is on again.

I'm wondering if anyone else out there has encountered this problem, and what they did about it. Also, for those of you with electronics background, is it possible that the 1 megohm resistor is too high and maybe using a lower resistor would acheive the desired effect?
