what is vtcs and what's it do?

I've looked at a lot of threads talking about removal of vtcs and such and i have no idea what it does? can anyone fill me in on what it is and what it does? thanks

removing it lets the air flow into the combustion chamber easier, when they are in there they control the air and how much it "tumbles" the tumbling action is supposed to increase low end torque or something not sure

but when you remove it, you lose a little low end torque and gain top end HP, its a free and easy mod
to get the most out of it i would suggest smoothing (port and polish) the little lip in the manifold left after u remove the butterflys

Actually VTCS is used only at cold startups and you can remove that. VICS is for lower rpm power you don't want to remove that if you are staying NA.

VTCS (Variable Tumble Control System) is an emmissions thing - it helps fuel combustion when the engine is still cold. removing it helps airflow, which is why the MP3 never had it.
