Transmission Indicator Display

I just purchased a '12 CX-9 GT. On the dash, under the PRNDM display, there is an indicator that shows what gear you are currently in--even if the transmission is in "D" (and not "M"). Does anyone know if this display can be changed just to show "D"? The Quick Start Guide shows "D" in this spot.

Thanks.

I have to ask why? Too annoying?
You don't want to know which gear you are in?

Most would consider it a "feature".
However, I don't know the answer to your question. Sorry.

I do find it a little distracting; it's handy in M mode, but I don't really see the point when in D.

The guys at Linear Logic gave me some test XGauges to try a few weeks ago and one of the gauges shows the Gear Ratio if that's of any use.

@Ceric, I sent in for a firmware upgrade after I broke it out to see if there's any improvement in performance.....sadly not...
