Tires that last

looking for a set of tires 225/40/18 that has a decent treadwear and longevity. i know thats kinda hard when you have a high powered fwd car but i want something longer lasting than the stockers. i am willing to sacrifice some grip for longer life of the tire...please chime in if you have EXPERIENCE with a tire or two, i dont wanna hear what you think will last or what some other person on another forum said. and if possible i want all season but either way is fine here in socal

I have about 70,000 miles on Kumho AST and ASX tires. They wear very evenly, have high tread wears (400 or so IIRC) and actually respond pretty well to aggressive driving. I have 20k on my ASX Kumhos on my MS3. They are less than half worn.

Also, they're cheap as hell!

I was looking for the same thing. Found the kuhmo asx's which was the cheapest 30,000 mile warranted performance tire I could find. Got mine from tires plus 420.00 mounted and balanced.
