I may get a roof rack to attempt to sway the eye away from all the dents I have on the roof from a hail storm. May have to get a pepboys hood scoop for the hood dents

My pic isnt so great either...

You can hide your door dings with bigger door moldings too! lol

I had hail damage about a year ago and PDR was a no-go due to how much damage my car had...new roof and hood for me. It sucked because I had zero dents due to my OCD parking habits...lol So, it all depends on how deep/how many hail dings there are. I definitely can relate to your situation.

Nice! When I get my car back from the body shop (paint work) I will get some shots up with my bike on it...

i noticed each u guys have yakima and thule racks, which u prefer? i snowboard and mountain bike and need a nice setup for it. i have my yakima powderhound rack for boards from my jeep, i need the mounts and crossrails. which u think nicer quality and looks better? gonna be on my car most of time lol

Honestly, you can't go wrong with either one. I did the "mount direct to the roof" setup with the Yakima. I bought Yakima, because there was a sale at REI. Snapped up some more shots today after a ride. I got the racks themselves this past week. $286 shipped for both.

speed3 britz: you can't go wrong with either one. Get the one that's on sale/special. That's what I would do!!!

while trying to install the yakima landind pad/ control towers I damaged the steel plate where you screw in the control towers.

so I had to use the yakima Q clips/Q towers instead.

does anybode know where can i find those steel plates for replacement?

Any dealer should be able to order them for you, but it's gonna be a b**** of an install cause you need to drop the headliner, which in turn makes you need to remove all sorts of interior trim.

At any rate, how did you damage them, did you over tighten them and strip em out?

I just installed the control towers myself, and noticed the front two were fine, but the back two towers still have play and I've tightened the hell out of it. I stopped in fear of damaging them. I think the next time I take them off, I might try either shorter screws and/or extra washers to get rid of the play without fear of over tightening.

I like your vid, lutexas. A couple handlebar mounted shots andsome mounted shots looking backwards with some of the rear wheel in view would have MADE that vid
