The AWD Conversion Thread

Hey guys,

Not new to the forums or Mazdaspeed, but recently picked up a 2011 MS3 and I'm seriously considering an AWD conversion. I know its been done before with the DG Motorsports 2007, but I know thats a bit of a different model.... anyone know what might be involved with a conversion of a 2011? Thanks for the help in advance!

I think you need to start with a Speed6 and then go from there. Interested to see how your swap/install turns out. Best bet is to get a rear diff without any type of electronic coupler and go from there. Also you will need a speed 6 transmission with transfer case for rear output and right axle output

There was a guy who adapted a lot of the speed6 drivetrain to a 3. Last I saw he was moving oversees and was parting out the build. Don't know what became of it. There's a build thread on a different forum.
