Switching Suspensions

I live where there's snow on the ground for basically half of the year, and I would hope to keep driving year round. However, I also want to put some 17" wheels on my Protege sedan, and lower my suspension too. My question is whether it would be possible, and if yes, expensive, to swap the lowering springs for the stock ones each year when the snow comes? Otherwise I think it would be too low to the ground to drive in the winter.

that's a lot of work year in and year out. in your case, why not just keep a set of 16" steel wheels with winter tires for the snowy months, and keep a set of 17" wheels with performance tires the rest of the year? really you want an adjustable ride height suspension system. usually controlled by air like in a Porsche cayenne or the six-fo in the rough parts of town.
