I thought it'd be fun to start a thread describing cars we've owned in the past, as well as what we liked/disliked about them. I also threw my ms3 in for no reason.
So...
(1996-2002)1987 Chevy S10 4x4 ext. cab: 350 v8 swap with th350 3 spd auto, carter afb 4-barrel carb, flowmaster exhaust and k&n intake.
Likes: V8 soundtrack, when those secondaries opened up is was pure joy. Plus that thing was my first vehicle, I beat the living crap out of it (including getting all 4 wheels airborne a couple of times) and she took it all in stride.
Dislikes: Gas Mileage-bad to terrible. Handling-haha, very funny! Braking-put a heavier motor in a truck with bad brakes and hilarity ensues. Despite the v8 it still wasn't that fast.
(2002-2007)1993 Mazda 626 ES V6 5spd: PRM cai, custom exhaust, fidanza flywheel, eibach springs, addco rear sway bar, centreforce clutch, 215/40/17 tires on 17x7 rims.
Likes: It was fairly light, the 2.5 V6 was smooth, revved to 7000rpm and sounded beautiful, the light flywheel made heel and toeing a pleasure and it actually handled pretty good. It was a simple, fun little car.
Dislikes: The brakes sucked, for all the music it still only had ~170hp, no torque, the chassis after 249,000 kms was pretty limp, it revved too high on the highway, the ride was too stiff for winter time, the loud exhaust got old after a couple of years, I wasted waaay too much money on this car.
(Now)2007 Mazdaspeed 3: Stock, I'd like to get an ms cai, lightweight flywheel and better tmic in the future.
Likes: Practical hatchback with way too much power is good times. Brakes are amazing, good ride/handling compromise, gets decent gas mileage when you don't drive like a maniac, won't become a money pit for mods as there's not much I plan to change on it.
Dislikes: Engine stops making power well before redline, I'm just not a fan of how 4-bangers sound (stock exhaust is gonna stay on this one!), drivetrain windup, if you want to enjoy all that power you gotta pay for it at the pump.
Anyone else?
